No-Regrets: D1 Prologue- You've Grown.

He sat on the rooftop, silently watching the moon and its light illuminating the dark night. The Jolteon always liked the night. The silence and the beauty of it is what attracts him to it. The Jolteon would spend seconds, minutes and hours just staring into the moonlight, enjoying every moment of it to reflect his past, just like how the moon would reflect the sun's rays.

'The Guilds already issued our first Dungeon mission, I wonder if we're up for the task...' The Jolteon mumbled to himself, wondering and considering all sorts of possibilities that could happen within the dungeon. 'Basalt Halls...as they call it.'

"Anything the matter?" A sentence cut through his thoughts and brought him back into reality. Raiken turned and saw another fox about the same size, one that he'd long familiarized with.

"Quite rare for you to stay up this late." He replied cautiously, trying not to insult or provoke her in any way.

"I was worried. About you." The fire fox smiled, jumping up the roof and sitting next to him. "From what I heard from Cres, you didn't behave well last Errand, and I can feel your Aura being unstable, mostly out of anxiety."

"You're certainly getting better with your Aura reading." Rai said, shaking his head. "But yeah. I've suddenly...got so much more things to think about, and I'm not sure whether my thoughts are running the right path."

"You've grown a lot since you joined the Guilds." She placed a paw on his cheek, running down towards his chin and caressing it. He blushed a little when she did that every time, probably because he always liked her affection towards him. Nevertheless, the action made him smile and pull the Fire-Type into a hug.

"Thank you, Ignis..." Raiken wrapped his paws around her tight, not letting go any time soon. "Let's hope we can finish this without any of us injured."

"Right."

The hug stayed for minutes, the two unwilling to break the embrace. He couldn't remember when was the last time they hugged. Whatever it was, it definitely wasn't recent. He looked up at the sky, the moon already hanging high.

He tried to say a word, but as soon he opened his jaw, he clammed it shut immediately after. The Jolteon, instead, rubbed her head gently and pushed her backwards, careful not to let her fall down the roof.

"Ano-"

"Hey-"

Both foxes tried to say something to ease up the somewhat awkward atmosphere, but somehow made it even more awkward as they stopped almost instantly when they heard each other wanting to talk. Smiling, the Vulpix straightened her paw and mimicked an action that vaguely resembled pushing and lifting at the same time, signalling him to go ahead.

He nodded and proceeded to tell her. "Actually... I...should've told you this earlier, but I guess now is okay. This Dungeon Mission...we're going alone."

"Alone? You mean just the two of us?" Ignis tilted her head, wondering why would he thought of that. Even though the Illuminator said that the Dungeon wouldn't be a problem, it was still their first Dungeon Mission, and they had no idea how would the Dungeon look like, and-

"I know you're really concerned about the idea, but...I figured that this is the time we'd need to prove that we're strong." He smiled at her, determination was shown on his eyes.

This time she sighed and shook her head. "Alright, fine. We go alone, but please promise me that you'll stay with me and not run off somewhere else."

"I promise." He nodded and thought of something else. "So what were you going to talk about?"

"..." She looked away.

"...?" He traced her eyes.

"..." The night became silent once again.
